Gallery Paperihuone Open Call for 2026 is open to 31.10.2025

Gallery Paperihuone is an art gallery located in central Hämeenlinna and maintained by local printmaking artists. The gallery has been in operation since 2015. Though maintained by a printmaking association the exhibitions haven’t been limited to print art. Instead the gallery has seen many different ensembles throughout the years and we are hoping for many bold, interesting and diverse exhibition proposals for 2026.

The gallery floor area is 20 m². The exhibition space receives a lot of natural light and is also lit by fluorescent tubes and spot lights. The long wall is a so-called stone wall, other walls are made of Gyproc-panels. The gallery walls are currently painted white.

The gallery space is connected to the printmaking studio and to the members’ work spaces, but has its own entrance on Arvi Kariston katu (street).

The exhibition fee for the four weeks exhibition period is 580 €. This includes assistance with installing the exhibition, opening arrangements and refreshments, exhibition publicity and supervision, and sales.

The gallery is open from Tuesdays to Fridays at 12–17 and on Saturdays at 12–16. Paperihuone ry/ Gallery Paperihuone reserves rights to change the opening hours by a few hours, if necessary.

Applying for exhibition

In your application letter, tell about your artistic practice and present your proposal for the exhibition. Mention also your preference for an exhibition month (January–December 2025). This will be taken into consideration when scheduling the exhibitions. The application must include the applicant’s name, address, phone number and email address. Please include in the attachments your resumé and 4–5 A4-sized pictures of your artworks with their titles, dates and descriptions of medium. The pictures should be of good quality and no older than three years. Every attachment should include the applicant’s name.

We would prefer applications sent by mail. An application sent on the last day of the application day will be accepted.
